In Remembrance Of Me

Often we do not remember that every moment in life is a moment which we should be thinking upon the Lord and his Truth. The mundane and common and everyday thing, is a thing in which the Lord delights. Every moment is sacred. Every time is a time to think, to praise, to give thanks.

In the portions of Scripture below, as well as others pertaining to what we commonly call Communion, or the Lord's Supper, or even Passover; there is something more.

We often miss what the scriptures clearly say. We often overlook that the common and everyday occurrence is and should be sacred.

When Jesus taught what we call Communion... The partaking of the bread and cup in Remembrance of him and the symbols of the bread to remind us of the his body broken for us... The cup to remind us of the blood he spilled for us... The New Covenant. The New Testament.

Jesus said, do this as often as you drink this cup and break this bread. I believe that whenever we break bread and eat it, and whenever we drink this cup, that is, the fruit of the vine, being grape juice, fermented (wine) or fresh... We should be remembering Christ and his death and resurrection. To think of both the responsibility and freedom that he has given us and all those who believe in his Holy name and his redemptive work, his death and resurrection.

Let us remember Him in the everyday acts of Life. That the bread and wine may be more as we remember Christ Jesus our Lord. Let the nourishment for our body also be the nourishment for all of our being.

Luke 22:15-20
